Josephine Johnson from Lockside View, Rugeley, initially claimed she hit the travelling fan by accident. However, upon viewing CCTV she abandoned her excuse and came clean. The defendant and season ticket holder, pleaded guilty at Walsall Magistrate’s Court and will not be able to attend a game until February 2022.Johnson will also be fined 300 on top of paying 135 in costs and a victim surcharge of 30. The prosecutor, Roger Blezzard, summarised the mess:An away supporter contacted a steward saying someone had thrown down a pie and it had hit them on the head.“CCTV was reviewed and identified a female had intentionally dropped the pie. It was dropped from a higher vicinity. She had been a season ticket holder for many years.“She had consumed two pints of alcohol and something from a hip flask.“She was in a relationship that had broken down and was going to football as a release. She initially said it was an accident, but when shown CCTV admitted she got excited and carried away.“She thought it would be funny to hit a supporter, she was not trying to hurt anyone.Richard Quinn, defending, added: “She did something she would normally not dream of doing. She is very, very sorry.”On the field Wolves showed great appetite for the game, eventually running out three-nil winners2
